This book tells the story of a teenage girl who loses her sister in a school explosion in Kabul, Afghanistan. Through a narrative approach, the book explains the process of grief counseling and introduces therapeutic writing for recovery as a method for coping with grief, trauma, and emotional pain.
The story is inspired by the terrorist attack on Sayed al-Shuhada School in West Kabul in May 2021. To protect privacy, names and some demographic details have been changed.
The book may also serve as a useful resource for psychologists, counselors, educators, and those working with trauma-affected adolescents.
