Behrawan Research and Psychological Services Organization (BRPSO) is a local, non-governmental and non-profit organization that has been registered with the NO (xxx7) in  2015 by Supreme Evaluation Commission of Ministry of Economy and has allowed activities in the central areas of the country in education and health.

Behrawan has more than 10 years of experience in research, psychotherapy and counselling/clinical psychology in Afghanistan and abroad.

The organization’s staff hold PhDs and Specialist in Psychology, Counselling and Education.  The staff perform counselling, psychotherapy, training, and rehabilitation. They also conduct research in psychological, educational, and social topics.

Departments

Research

Behrawan Research and Psychological Services Organization conducts research, training, and academic activities in psychology, education, trauma, and social sciences. The organization supports research projects, academic publications, dissertation supervision, data analysis, and proposal development using tools such as SPSS, NVIVO, Stata, and Lisrel. Behrawan has also collaborated in international conferences and developed educational resources to promote mental health, resilience, and community well-being.

Counselling

Behrawan Research and Psychological Services Organization provides counseling, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and mental health support for children, youth, adults, and families affected by psychological distress and humanitarian crises. Services include individual and group psychotherapy, family and educational counseling, psychological assessments, autism support, and resilience-building workshops. Following the terrorist attack on Sayed al-Shohada School in Kabul, Behrawan led a large-scale volunteer crisis intervention program that included psychological first aid, group support, home and hospital visits, recovery programs, and counseling services for survivors and affected communities.

Education

Behrawan Organization promotes education, empowerment, and psychological awareness through training programs in counseling, psychotherapy, crisis management, research methodology, and statistics. The organization has provided professional trainings for teachers, students, women, healthcare staff, and researchers, with more than 600 individuals benefiting from research and SPSS workshops alone. Behrawan has also organized crisis management and resilience trainings focused on psychological first aid, suicide prevention, PTSD interventions, and community mental health support in humanitarian settings.
